1.Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2."Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise-- 3."that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." 4.Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. 1.자녀들아 너희 부모를 주 안에서 순종하라 이것이 옳으니라 2.네 아버지와 어머니를 공경하라 이것이 약속 있는 첫 계명이니 3.이는 네가 잘 되고 땅에서 장수하리라 4. 또 아비들아 너희 자녀를 노엽게 하지 말고 오직 주의 교양과 훈계로 양육하라
SUMMARY
The fact that the flesh contains the word of God does not make it a spirit. The flesh shall not be mixed with or woven with the spirit. This means that the word of God, the spirit, cannot be fulfilled through the flesh. Therefore, the flesh that can receive what God promised is not the flesh that exists on earth. It is a new body, brought to the cross by the Holy Spirit, where it died with Jesus and was brought out of that death. It is a new creation that does not belong to the earth. 육이 하나님의 말씀(약속)을 담고 있다고 해서 영이 되는 것은 아니다. 육은 영과 섞이거나 엮일 수 없다. 영이신 하나님의 약속이 육을 통해서 달성될 수는 없다. 따라서 하나님이 약속하신 것을 받을 수 있는 육은 이 땅에 존재하는 육이 아니다. 그것은 성령에 의해 십자가로 데려가지고 거기서 예수님과 함께 죽고 그 죽음에서 끄집어 내어진 새로운 육이다. 곧 땅에 속하지 않은 새로운 피조물이다.
In spite of this reality, he who is willing to try to observe the commandments of God in today’s text has no idea of himself. This attitude also proves that he is misusing the word of God as a means to gain the things he desires. 실상이 이러함에도 불구하고 오늘 본문을 대하면서 하나님의 명령을 지켜보겠다고 선뜻 나서는 자는 자신에 대한 주제 파악이 전혀 안 된 자이다. 이러한 태도는 그가 하나님의 말씀을 자신이 욕망하는 것들을 얻기 위한 수단으로 이용하고 있다는 것을 입증한다.
Therefore, the phrase that should not be missed in today's text is 'in the Lord'. If someone reads the text, except ‘in the Lord’, obeying his parents and not offending his children is his own work which is done ‘in himself’ and ‘for himself’. It's his own work. This is the very work of the flesh that seeks to strengthen his own status, his own honor, and the happiness of his own family. Ironically, obeying his parents and bringing up his children well is what makes himself enemies of God. 그러므로 오늘 본문에서 절대로 놓쳐서는 안 되는 어구는 ‘주 안에서’이다. 만약 이 ‘주 안에서’를 빼고 본문을 읽게 되면 ‘부모에게 순종하는 것’과 ‘자녀를 노엽게 하지 않는 것’은 ‘자신 안에서’ 행하는 자기의 일이 되고 그것은 자기로 말미암고 자기를 위하여 자기에게로 마감되게 되어있다. 이것은 자신의 위상과 자신 명예, 자기 가정의 행복을 공고히 하고자 하는 육의 일이 된다는 것이다. 아이러니하게도 자녀들은 부모에게 순종하고 부모는 자녀를 잘 양육하는 것이 하나님과 원수 맺는 것이 된다.
Then again, there is something we should not miss out on : "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth(6:3)”. The land referred to here is not the land of this cursed world, but the land of the covenant. This land means the land of Canaan in the Old Testament and heaven in the New Testament, the kingdom of Son. 한편, “네가 잘 되고 땅에서 장수하리라(6:3).”고 하는 말씀에서도 우리가 놓쳐서는 안 되는 것이 있다. 여기서 언급하고 있는 ‘땅’은 저주받은 이 세상의 땅이 아니라 ‘약속의 땅’이라고 하는 것이다. 이 땅은 구약에서는 가나안 땅을 의미하고 신약에서는 천국, 곧 아들의 나라를 의미한다.
God has made parents and children partner with each other in receiving what God has promised. God reveals the true Father-Son relationship, keeping His promises to the end. They cannot enter the Kingdom of the Son unless they are true sons acknowledged by God. The kingdom of the Son is completed in such a way that the Father hands it over to the Son and the Son inherits it. 하나님은 부모와 자식이 하나님께서 약속하신 것을 받는 일에 서로 파트너가 되게 하셨다. 하나님께서는 자신의 약속을 끝까지 유지하시면서 참된 아버지와 아들의 관계를 드러내신다. 하나님이 인정하시는 참된 아들이 아니라면 그들은 ‘아들의 나라’에 들어갈 수 없다. 아들의 나라는 아버지께서 아들에게 넘겨주시고 아들이 그것을 상속하시는 방식으로 완성된다.
God freely surrendered his one and only Son to the world to find those who would be His children in this cursed land. He gave the Son of God to the sinful hands of our sinners. Therefore, those who truly understand the cross of Jesus know that they are not entitled to enter heaven at all. They know that it is so ridiculous for them to enter heaven. 하나님께서는 이 저주받은 땅에서 아들의 나라에 들어갈 자기 자녀가 될 자들을 찾기 위해서 자신의 하나뿐인 독생자 아들을 아낌없이 세상에 내어주셨다. 우리 죄인의 죄악 된 손에 하나님의 아들을 내어 맡기신 것이다. 따라서 예수님의 십자가를 진정으로 이해하는 자들은 자신이 전혀 천국(약속의 땅)에 들어갈 자격이 없음을 안다. 자신이 천국에 들어가는 것은 너무도 얼토당토않은 일임을 안다.
Jesus introduces two opposing sons in Luke 15. The first son does not leave his father and does what he thinks is filial piety. But he doesn't understand his father's mind at all. The second son leaves his father with his own greed and goes to a distant country and squanders his family fortune with the prostitute. These two seem different from each other on the surface, but after all, their interests are only themselves and their own final purpose. 예수님께서는 누가복음 15장에서 서로 대립되는 두 아들을 소개하신다. 첫째 아들은 아버지 곁을 떠나지 않고 자신이 생각하는 효도를 다한다. 하지만 그는 전혀 아버지의 마음을 이해하지 못한다. 둘째 아들은 자기 욕심을 따라 아버지를 떠나고 먼 나라로 가서 창기와 더불어 가산을 탕진한다. 이 둘은 겉으로 보기에는 달라 보이지만 결국 이 둘의 관심사는 오직 자기 자신이며 자기 자신이 최종 목적이다.
However, by having left the father, the second son learns how disobedient he is and a sinner who sinned against God and the father. When he came back, he said to his father, “ father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son” 그런데 둘째 아들은 아버지 곁을 떠남으로써 자신이 얼마나 불순종하는 자식이며 하나님과 아버지께 죄를 지은 죄인인지를 알게 된다. 그가 아버지께 돌아왔을 때, 그는 이렇게 말한다. '아버지여, 내가 하늘과 아버지께 죄를 지었으므로 더이상 아버지의 아들이라 불리움을 감당치 못하겠나이다."
The reason Jesus speaks of this parable is to draw out a third strange concept between the opposite concepts of good and evil in humans. It was revealed through Jesus that this third concept belongs only to life, not good or evil. Those who know that they are wicked sinners who are not be no longer worthy to be called son are true children and the son of the Father who pleases God so that he may feast in heaven. Such a person is a true son who put his life in the fate which God had decided and a child who obeys his father. 예수님께서 이 비유를 말씀하시는 이유는 인간들의 선과 악이라는 대립개념 사이에서 제3의 낯선 개념을 뽑아내시기 위해서다. 이 제3의 개념은 선도 아니요 악도 아닌 오직 생명에 속한 것이라는 것이 예수님을 통해서 밝혀졌다. 자신은 아버지의 아들로 여김을 받아서는 안 되는 악한 죄인인 것을 아는 자가 하나님께서 천국에서 잔치를 벌일 만큼 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 참 자식이요 아버지의 아들이라는 것이다. 이런 자가 자신의 목숨을 하나님께서 정해주신 운명 속에 집어넣은 참된 아들이며 아버지께 ‘순종’하는 자식이다.
The life God has given to man is like a bill to be exchanged for cash in due time. This is the purpose of life God has given us. As long as one lives, he must tell that nothing is more precious than the life promised by God. He who knows this is the one who gives up and betray everything in this world--his own people, his own country, his own family, his own principles, even his own petty conscience. This is a betrayal of oneself and a denial of oneself. 하나님께서 인간에게 주신 목숨은 때가 되면 현찰과 바꾸어야 할 어음과 같은 것이다. 이것이 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 목숨의 용도이다. 성도는 하나님에 의해 약속된 생명보다 더 소중한 것이 없음을 목숨이 있는 한 전해야 한다. 이 사실을 아는 자는 이 세상에 있는 모든 것, 즉 자기 민족, 자기 국가, 자기 가족, 자기의 원칙, 알량한 자기의 양심까지도 포기하고 배신하는 자이다. 이것은 곧 자기 자신을 배신하는 것이며 이것이 자기 부인이다.
